Assessment Review

A review committee representing a cross-section of MNU employees is brought together over the summer to evaluate each unit and sub-unit's 1) annual assessment reports and 2) assessment day minutes.  

The committee uses the following template in order to create a forced ranking of every office and program at the institution:

Intended Educational (Student) Outcomes

The major or degree program has reported at least 3 outcomes stated in terms of student learning rather than faculty goals.

 

 

 

 

Means of Assessment

Specific and direct assessment measures, other than course grades, are identified.

 

 

 

 

Multiple means of assessment

Each outcome has at least 2 measures. Indirect measures can be used to support direct measures. 

 

 

 

 

Criteria for success

A quantitative target has been set for each means of assessment. The academic unit will compare actual data against this goal to determine whether program improvements are needed.

Data is collected, summarized, analyzed and compare against each outcomes criterion for success. Summary of data will be reported as (% passing = # passing / total # taking assessment

Assessment progress reports and feedback letters are provided annually to every vice president, division chair and program director for the purpose of encouraging continual improvement of the process.   The ultimate goal is that the process be transforming and sustainable.
