"Over 135 colleges and universities nationwide use the College Basic Academic Subjects Examination (College BASE). Developed in the late 1980s at ARC, College BASE is a criterion-referenced achievement examination that serves two purposes: to qualify individuals for entry into teacher education programs and to test general academic knowledge and skills in campus-wide assessment programs. College BASE content is organized into four subject areas: English, mathematics, science, and social studies." Source: http://arc.missouri.edu/index.php?p=/CB/CBhome.htm
